2008 5TH ANNUAL PAM SAUNDERS CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT
Wednesday June 18, 2008 Fossil Trace Golf Club

On a perfect Colorado summer morning, 92 golfers ventured onto Fossil Trace Golf Club in Golden, nestled in the foothills just west of Denver, to participate in the Fifth Annual Pam Saunders Charity Golf Tournament.

The unique golf course - with its immaculate greens and hints of a lost world where dinosaurs once roamed - was a huge hit. The stunning 12th hole, for instance, featured 20-foot tall pillars of sandstone in the fairway, demanding that players be respectful of the 64-million-year-old trace fossils of palm fronds and triceratops footprints
near the green.

But as thrilling as Fossil Trace was, the true stars of the day were the golfers and volunteers who turned out to raise money for the Lorenzen Cancer Foundation and its fight against pancreatic cancer. Through the golf tournament and the lunchtime silent auction, we raised over $34,000. We want to express a huge thanks to all of you.

At the end of the day, the intrepid foursome from KHOW radio featuring Dan Caplis, Craig Silverman, Tal Filholm and Chuck Stary had prevailed. Not only did Team KHOW win the Media Cup Challenge for the third straight year, they also regained the overall title.

Once again, media outlets from the Denver area were well represented. The participants included teams from The Denver Post, Rocky Mountain News, KCNC Channel 4, KMGH Channel 7, Starz Entertainment, and FSN Rocky Mountain.

A special thank you goes out to Casino Marketing Specialists for donating the golfer gift hats and Diane Lighthall who sponsored the commemorative golf photos. Finally, we wish to thank all of our volunteers who put so much time and love into aiding our cause. We pay tribute to those who have lost their fight and will continue to rally for those still fighting. Together, we can make a difference!

The Pam Saunders Charity Golf Tournament is thriving, in large part, because of the generosity of its sponsors. Thank you so much!
