-
- The impulse for the Drive For The Marker
initiative is related to the untimely deaths due to pancreatic
cancer of: Ely Callaway, CEO and Founder of Callaway Golf Company;
John Chadwell, President of Pebble Beach Company; and Colonel
Gary Lorenzen of the U.S. Air Force Academy.
-
- This fundraising initiative consists of
a series of closest-to-the-pin contests at golf clubs throughout
the U.S.
-
- The raised funds will be used for awareness
and especially to directly foster the development of a molecular
or genetic marker for the earlier diagnosis of pancreatic cancer
(such as now exists for prostate cancer).
-
- The Lorenzen Cancer Foundation is a 501(c)(3)
non-profit corporation located in Monterey, California and dedicated
to the fight against pancreatic cancer.
-
- Golf Magazine, Callaway Golf and Pebble
Beach Company have joined together to support this worthy cause.
-
- The Drive For The Marker initiative is
a directed effort aimed at forever changing the tragic human
relationship to this disease.
