How does it work?

You pick the date for the contest. It can be incorporated as an internal event in an existing scheduled club tournament or it may be on a high-volume regular play day. Each participant will donate $20 ($15 of which is tax-deductible) to participate in the Drive For The Marker closest-to-the-pin contest, and every participant receives a one-year subscription to Golf Magazine. The winner of the event will receive a limited-edition Joann Dost trophy pin flag, a Callaway Odyssey putter and a dozen Callaway golf balls.

What you do:

 

Inform us of your date so we can send you all the materials and prizes in time to promote and host your Drive For The Marker event.

 

Get the word out by going to the press release and use the press release template to "cut and paste" and create your customized release. Using minimal modification and fill-in-the-blanks, you can personalize the information to post in a prominent place or include in your newsletter.

 

Give us an estimate of how many participants you think will attend so that we can provide you with an appropriate number of materials. If you subsequently find that you need more promotional materials, just let us know and we'll forward them promptly.

 

Hold the event by placing the "trophy flag" on the pin of your assigned hole. Then just collect the entry donations, wait for someone to hit it closer than everyone else, award the prizes that we've provided and thank your golfers for their support for Drive For The Marker.

 

After the event please convert any loose cash into a single check, summarize everything on the outside of the collection envelope, make sure the tally matches with all the checks inside the envelope, enclose both sign-up sheets (keep a copy for your records) and forward everything in the pre-paid envelope we provide.

 

The one-year subscription to Golf Magazine will be sent directly to participants.

 

And send us pictures -- we'll be putting a number of them up on this website.
